| - I just want to start off by saying that this salon goes above and beyond my expectations every time. I have been going to Hairafter for 8 years, and yes this is my first review!!!
Anyway, I have moved to Australia for school and the first appointment I make when I return for holidays is with my stylist GianPaul. There are plenty of great hair salons in Australia, but my loyalty is here. Why? You get the professionalism, expertise and quality as any high-end, Yorkville salon. But you also get the family-run business atmosphere. Everyone is friendly, greets you at the door, provide coffee/drinks/snacks, humour and a very comfortable environment. I've lost count of how many times I had to write the salon's contact number down on a napkin or piece of paper for a stranger who has complimented my hair. At least 5 of my friends go here as well, and I was also referred by my friend 8 years ago.
The review written by WilmaFlintsone has a few errors and I do not find it useful whatsoever. You cannot review a business based on a phone call or email. Some employees may not suit you or provide the response that you so absolutely required. If she actually had her hair done there, I think her views would be different.
During my most recent visit, there was a woman from the States who just heard of Hairafter and came. She was quite particular. The water needed to be a certain temperature, the robe was too hot for her, she did't want a "sexy" haircut, she was nervous and a bit eccentric. AND NOT once did the employees roll their eyes or make her feel uncomfortable. They made sure she was happy, no matter what they had to do. You should have seen her face once John (the owner) was done. She was happy, smiling and her pessimism was gone. I feel like every new client has the same final reaction.
The location is only 20 minutes from downtown, 20 minutes from most suburbs around the GTA and there is tons of free parking.
I recommend this salon, not only because they are absolutely amazing at what they do, but because If you are looking to fix your hair, do something new, or find a salon for life, this is the one. GianPaul is my stylist, if you can't book with him, the other team members are just as good. I also suggest you search online for the salon. They have incredible reviews and have won various awards across U.S. and Canada.
Anyhoo, book it up. Take a picture if you want, or just give them an idea. Or let them work some magic. 100% you will love it!
