  • Carolina Place Mall used to be a premier destination for shoppers all across the Charlotte Metro area. It offered stores unseen in the Carolinas for many years and the selection of small boutique stores was amazing. However, as times have changed and the need for more variety increases, Carolina Place Mall has seem to lose some of it's luster, even-though there is an Apple Store located here. Granted, Carolina Place Mall is one of my favorite shopping areas because you have the usual anchor stores such as Dillards, Macy's and Belk but also the proximity to other stores such as REI, Dicks Sporting and some chain restaurants such as Firebirds, Olive Garden and Red Lobster. You also have easy access to the interstate, so getting in and out is as efficient as you could expect for this area considering the traffic which can be hectic at times. Security is also great at the mall and I have noticed a drop off in young adolescents hanging out in groups and causing unwanted aggravation to shoppers. The food court is clean, spacious and has a nice variety of restaurants. All in all, there's not much else to say about Carolina Place Mall other than it's still keeping up with the times and the clientel moving into the area.
