| - Within walking distance from my house i think that the dark horse speaks to me the most from all coffee shops. Gun to the head and i would say its the large wooden table, large enough to sit 12 people comfortably, that keeps this place intriguing. place an order with a couple of smiling easy going baristas, approach the communal newspaper, plop your bum on a red bar stool seat and read a few bites amongst a fortress of mac geeks.
theres also a lot of floor space; its clean looking. the walls are high, made of brick, and look worn either because they are or are made to look like that. and perhaps i feel just that much brighter, cleaner when im there because each wall flanking the street is virtually all window.
oh, yes. the coffee. how about that you say. well they do care about their creations. and it tastes good. but im beginning to think that that's almost the monkey job of it all. its the shop itself thats the magician at work here.
they do have a cool logo, cool ts for sale, not so tasty berrylike granola desserty breakfasty thingys, and pretty cool art on the walls.
just my kind of illusion.
