| - I am generally very happy with this Menchie's. The flavors are usually quite good, the place clean and friendly. For goodness sake they have the closest thing to Dole Whip you can get outside of Disney and Oahu, so they get extra love for that.
Maybe I am a little more critical after seeing their episode of Undercover Boss, but I can tell you that regardless of corporate standards; today's visit was pretty less than stellar. We walked in tonight and the girl cleaning the table kind of looked up and said welcome. The machine grates that catch run off yogurt were filthy, most covered with lil yogurt turds. Four of the machines were flashing, craving attention from an employee. The floor was sticky and black from where dirt from shoes stuck to the sticky. Their counter where the toppings were were covered with toppings and stickiness. A container labeled "Strawberry Popping Boba" had blackish/purple boba in it. That could be an allergy issue for people not expecting it. There was chocolate sauce on the window, and on one of the chairs...at least I am telling myself it was chocolate. The patio was covered with napkins and sprinkled with spoons.
Now, I could chalk all of this up to perhaps a large group had just left and the poor girl was madly trying to keep up. This could be plausible. However, I think it was more of a lack of care issue. You see, while we were there two young folks came in with the Starbucks run. The non-uniform male and female spent the whole time we were there talking to the girl and another female employee that showed up. Customers coming in, now were not greeted at all. The first female employee was too busy flirting with the male Starbucks bringer, giving him pieces of waffle cone to eat and throw playfully at her as she stood behind the counter. Another poor customer desperately was trying to get magic shell to pump, when he finally gave up, resolving it to be empty, he tried to get a staff member's attention. However, that was a fruitless endeavor as flirty McGee was still there and the second employee was busy talking it up with the other Starbucks bringer.
So, unless you are welding Starbucks or feel like flirting your way to a team member's heart, don't expect a clean store or attentive service.

Please let this be a fluke. It is really expensive to go to Disney and Oahu, and I really love my Dole Whip. There are enough lackluster places in the 'hood. You don't need to be one of them too.
