Thanks to fellow Yelper I received a fabulous cut from Melinda yesterday. Not too far from me, I intentionally sought to "shop local" and Mesa Downtown merchants provide additional parking in lots behind the Main St. shops. Parking is really not an issue. You just need to be in the know. Yes, it is a fashion/clothes/accessories salon, so there is the possibility to enter looking one way, and exit a whole new you! Hair and fashion go hand in hand (ahem...hair is fashion!) To the short story...I hadn't had a professional cut since my post- chemo hair came in. I had 2 years of growth. We flipped through some pictures and after a lengthy consult were on our way. Just enough came off (funny, once you lose your hair, even cutting an inch seems, well, like ALOT of hair!!) and it was perfect in every way. There were no surprises. This is how you know your hair was in good hands all the while. A lengthy consultation is key. You should never be sent to a shampoo bowl before speaking with a new-to-you hairdresser. That's a red-flag moment. Leave immediately.
Melinda is beautiful inside and out: easy to see in a moment when it's genuine. So thank you Melinda, my Midwest friend. I will be seeing you in 6-8 weeks!
