  • My family and I went to Mama Ricotta's for Mother's Day dinner this past Sunday. I made a reservation through opentable which apparently didn't go through properly, however the host was very accommodating and able to get us a table on the patio. I do not hold the faults of open table against them. I want to start by saying that for the most part, the food was excellent. My mom had the penne a la vodka and it was amazing. I had the chicken parm which was also very good. This being said, my daughter's meal was ice cold (it was a grilled cheese) by the time the replacement came out everyone had already finished their meal and she was full from eating off everyone else's plate. The reason I am giving this place two stars is because of the service. Being that it was a holiday none of us were expecting the service to be super speedy, but our server was not only slow, but not attentive and rude. He never once wished us a happy Mother's Day, he didn't introduce himself, instead of asking what anyone wanted to drink he just brought waters, and anyone who wanted anything else they had to take it upon themselves to order it. If we needed a refill, we had to wave the server down and ask for it. Not to mention the fact that he came and refilled our water glasses with warm water. (We we're sitting on the patio where it was 80 degrees). He was not the server who delivered our food, and he never followed up to even ask us how our food was, or if we needed anything else. It was only after we complained to the manager that he even came to our table. The manager addressed the issue with the server, and he returned with a very sarcastic tone making sure to emphasize how our water now had ice in it and was cold. Our servers name is Stewart. It is because of him that I, nor anyone in my family, will return to this restaurant. This is a shame considering how good the food is, but being paying customers, I believe we deserve to be treated much better than that. If you do go to this restaurant and you have Stewart as a server have zero expectations of good service. I will also be posting this review on Facebook and google, because of how offended I am by how my family was treated.
