  • I would just like to share a story about my experience at the store at Dixie and Dundas. I frequently shop at Canadian tire but usually at the Mavis and Dundas store. My husband and I were in the area so we decided to stop in at the Dixie and Dundas store to pick up a Christmas tree. Online it said the store has two in stock. We couldn't find any in the seasonal department and there were no employees in the department we could ask for help. There was a desk that had a computer and a button to press if you needed help. I pressed the button and check the computer which also said they had two in stock. After about 5 minutes of pressing the button and waiting there was an employee passing by so my husband stopped her and asked if anyone was working in the seasonal department and started to explain that we were looking for a Christmas tree when he was very rudely interrupted by the lady saying she only stocks shelves and for us to press the button at which point I walk over and tell her that we have been pressing the button and no one has replied. She then proceeded to walk away. At this point I start getting frustrated. I have worked in retail or a customer service industry my whole life and know that even if she did just stock shelves she should of looked for someone who was able to help us. At the point my husband went to use the washroom and I stayed by that button with the hope that the shelf stocker would of done her good deed for the day and actually found someone to help us. Also I'm 8 months pregnant and don't find walking around Canadian tire aimlessly very appealing at the moment. I tirelessly press the button every time the light went off with no help anywhere in sight. My husband returns to his very frustrated wife and suggested that we get anything tree that was on sale for $89.99, I snap back at him that I am not spending any money in this store until I find someone to help me. Finally we find another lady who also just stocked shelves who seemed like we asked her for directions to the north pool when we asked her if there was anyone who could help us. She didn't work in the department was all she could say, I'm not sure if those were the only words she knew or if helping people was just not her thing. Finally there was another lady that actually worked in the department. She was at the other end of the seasonal department and yelled with her back to us that they didn't have anymore of the tree that we wanted. Finally after 30 minutes we received an answer, there is a Canadian tire god and he listen to my frustration and sent an angel to yell at us that they were sold out! I immediatly insisted that we leave and take our business over to the queensway store.
