| - I just completed my 6 week challenge and am here to give you the pros & the cons, first the pros.
1. This is a great program that combines exercise and healthy eating.
2. I love the workouts, they are always different so it doesn't get boring and they demo them so you know what you're doing and you don't hurt yourself. I have no clue what to do with weights so this was the best part. Also, you can really see how you're building and In just six weeks I could see a huge difference in my abilities in the workouts.
3. It's like having a personal trainer every single class and probably a lot cheaper and the AM/PM class times provide a good variety but it also made you plan your day and stick to a schedule which is half the battle. I lost a ton of inches which was super encouraging.
4. The support from other challengers, online blogs like MooMoo Jackson and on Facebook is amazing!
5. I loved all the supplements I bought and the fact that I could have salsa was a life saver!!!
Now the cons.
1. I dislike taking time out of my busy life to workout, especially at a location outside of my home.
2. They are closing the room that my children were able to play in. That is frustrating and just adds in another level of difficulty since they are almost out of school.
3. The list of food items is ok but I don't love quinoa or brown rice or parental tortillas, etc. so it's kind of ick. I would prefer a higher fat and get my carbs from veggies or something because this type of eating is not a sustainable lifestyle for me. Also you have to buy the supplements from them, a little monopolistic! If you buy another protein powder it's never quite good enough as theirs.
4. The Facebook check-ins are a way of holding yourself accountable and a free way for them to advertise but I really disliked that part. They posted a photo of my after my first week and thank goodness I have to approve posts or that would have been out there for everyone to see!
5. Apparently it's hard to lose the 20 lbs when you are only about 20-30 lbs overweight but I wasn't told this at the beginning nor is there a sliding scale. I feel like this is the best program for people who need to lose 60-100 lbs. A every weigh-in I was told it's harder to lose the weight when you're not that far from your goal, ok- thanks bun, that is not encouraging at all. If that's the case then why not scale the plan that way too? Some people think this is a scam and I know quite a few challengers who are going to lose their money so it's disappointing for sure. I would like to know their percentages of how many people actually hit the 20 lbs and are able to earn their $500 back. For most people it takes them more than 1 challenge so if it gets harder as time goes on, it's a huge curiosity for me.
I was going to give 4 stars but I was sooo ticked off at my final weigh-in. I was told that I should have done the Cali tea differently than what was on the Cali tea box and I would have lost another 2-3 lbs even though they never said a word and just said to follow the instruction in their book aka Bible and on the box. Pretty dumb when I was 1 lb from moving onto the next challenge and 3 lbs from getting my money back and another fellow challenger gained weight in the last week so they have her another week to finish but of course they refused to let me have anything else, I was too close to getting my $500 back. And they don't give any guidance on transitioning back to regular eating if you're not a member which is pretty shady and unhelpful.
I'm a little more inclined to see this as a scam but I did lose 19 lbs so I'm not overly disgusted just super disappointed.
All in all it's been a great experience and I really like some of the trainers and the fellow challengers/members but I would NOT do it again nor could I in a right conscience ask someone else to throw their $500 away. You have better odds on black in Vegas.
