  • This is the 3rd time I have been to the melting pot before. It was my husbands first time. I have enjoyed my experiences so I asked my husband to take me there for my birthday. We got there and everything seemed fine. It took a while to get our drinks but we got them and they were OK. When our first course came the vegetables were a little old. They weren't fresh and the bread was hard although the cheese tasted delicious. Our server was a little "green" so to speak (or new). He didn't have the type of experience you would expect when you're paying 100+ dollars for dinner. Before we were even done with our cheese course, the server took all of our plates with veggies still left on them and didn't ask if we were finished. When we got our entrée course, the food was good and we enjoyed that course of the meal. However the server again try to take a plate that had food left on it. We had to tell him that we weren't finished with it yet. When we got our last entrée, the chocolate fondue, our silverware and plates were dirty and we had to ask A busboy to replace them for us. He did and brought us additional plate ware, what his response was "OK" and walked away. Again for the price of the dinner you would expect something a little bit more. The server never came back to apologize or mention anything about the dirty silverware or plates. In addition the staff were in Jeans with sneakers. Which in most situations I'm OK with, however with a type of dinner that you're looking for at a place like this I was assuming something a little bit more classy. The server dropped off the check and told us to take our time and within 3 minutes came back opened the check in front of us and said "is this ready yet?" And clearly we hadn't opened it or even finished our last course. Our experience wasn't horrible but for the price that is why am giving it one star because it wasn't enjoyable. The Decour is outdated and it's not something I would do again for a $160 meal. Spend your money at the capital Grille or something else where you know you're going to get a good experience. I will say the hostess was nice and when my husband made the reservation he had told them it was my birthday. The hostess told me happy birthday and was super friendly. Although when we were seated the server asked us what occasion we were here for which I thought was kind of weird because the hostess had just told me happy birthday.
