Do not sign a contract with ADT Security Services - When trying to disconnect my service, I was told I needed to fax a professional style letter to 800-873-7940 and then wait 2 weeks for confirmation my fax was received. Then 30 days letter I would be granted approval to disconnect service. My contract with ADT expired 2 years ago so I asked to speak with a supervisor and was placed on hold for over 45 minutes. While on hold, a recording reminded me over and over again that I can activate and deactivate the ADT alarm system via a smart phone. But, I have to use archaic technology to shut off the account? I don't own a fax machine, and I don't know anyone who does. To make matters worse, I have a $400 credit on the account that will be held for 2 years and can only be used for future products or services. Do not use ADT Security Service - they are too hard to do business with in the modern world.
