  • DO NOT PURCHASE A CHRISTMAS TREE HERE THIS YEAR! Last year we purchased our tree at this location. it was the best tree that we've had. Remembering that, we purchased our 2012 tree here on December 4, 2012. While it appeared ok when it was wrapped up, when we removed it from our car, there was a ton of dropped pine needles in our car. Maybe, we thought, this was a one time event. When we opened the tree in our home, it had a musty smell to it + was dropping pine needles all over the place. Since I cut two inches off the bottom so that it cover "drink" water, maybe this issue would go away? Wrong, the next morning we had a bag full of needles under the tree. On December 7th, I spoke to the store manager--the same guy who rearranged the store unlike anyother costco--the nuts and candy were now in the back of the store. This Manager displayed the wrost case of customer service around--he said the issue I was complaining about was normal--really? This was the 40th year of me purchasing Christmas Trees, so maybe I base my complaint upon past experience! He said bring it back for a refund--ok. We purchased a replacement tree in our Town and it was great for a few dollars more. Very minor loss of pine needles unlike the avalanche of the Costco pine needles! Today, 12/08/12, we will be near the Tempe Costco and will return this very dead tree + a bag of fallen pine needles. I did check the other trees at Costco on 12/07 and the needles were falling off like crazy while being placed in customer's vehicles. So if you want to have the same experience that I had, buy your tree at Costco! Update: While I returned our tree, another car pulled up with their tree to be returned for the same reasons. Some may feel that this was funny--but if it did happen to you you'd feel it was a P.I.A.
