  • I rented from Colony American Homes for a year. I did not read the reviews prior, thank God. The house was beautiful, the location perfect, the maintenance of it was to be desired. There was electrical issues, issues with the hot tub, no real move in instructions on how to use things and the house wasn't prepped for move in, screens missing, trash in yard and such. We kept records of those items, bugged them forever and everything except some items were fixed. We moved out due to buying a house. We left the house In Better condition than we found it and I was so scared after reading the reviews that we wouldn't get our sec deposit back. We did, minus 400.00 some of the items they charged us for were items they never fixed. But we were just happy to have received most our money. They are horrible to get ahold of, but the new maintenance call number helps. We went 6 weeks without a washer once, those are the things they could improve.
