This store is terrible. The kids running the place are always loudly having some nonsense conversation behind the counter and have terrible costumer service. I have been shopping at Exchange (formerly Record Exchange) stores for many, many years and this store was once one of the best. We often make the rounds to all of the Exchange stores in the area, but lately we've been asking ourselves why we even bother going to the North Olmsted location. As a toy collector, I was ecstatic when Exchange stores began buying and selling old toys and collectables. The great thing about the Exchange is that you never know what you're going to find and USUALLY you can find great stuff for a good price. Unfortunately, the North Olmsted location doesn't operate that way. They price everything obnoxiously high as though they were a high end collectables store. It's obvious that whoever runs the place believes that they know the current collectors market and thinks that they're going to be able to sell everything for top dollar. Although in reality they probably just scan EBay real quick and base their prices on whatever is listed highest. It's pretty indicative of the attitude that you get from the employees - they are super cool because they work at a record store and they know more than you - it's a sad stereotype, but in this case it totally fits. Someone needs to tell them that the draw of the Exchange stores is stumbling on cool finds and finding them for a reasonable price. Of course they're in it to make money and they have to pay the person that traded the stuff in in the first place, but this particular location tries to gouge you for all it's worth. And the fact that you see the same stuff sitting on the shelf month after month should tell them something. Unfortunately for all involved they are too arrogant to take a hint.
I highly recommend the Exchange as a company, but skip this location and you'll be better off. If you're looking for good deals and cool finds, they have other great locations. If you want a good selection of vintage toys and a staff that actually knows what they are doing, go to Big Fun.
