  • I try very hard not to go to places like this. Cakes, donuts, cookies, they are so bad for you. But, I can't walk past this place when I'm in Shadyside. We bought Gobs, a giant sprinkle cookie, a giant iced brownie, and 3 burnt almond tort "thingys" - the small rectangular ones. Sooooooo good. It's a 3-way tie between Prantl' (cakes, cookies and such), La Gourmandine (croissants, danishes, other bread things), and Jean-Marc Chantellier's French bakery (macarons) for best bakery in Pittsburgh.
