I want to give this two stars, but I've had good experiences there before and I probably would normally rate it with 4 stars, so 3 it is.
I called to see if they still had Hunger Games tickets on Friday afternoon for opening evening and was met with the surprise that they did indeed have enough for 3 for the 9:45 pm show. I rushed out and obtained them and was told to come back to get good seating 1 and half to 2 hours before the showtime. Noted.
We came back for 8pm and lined up behind about 15 people. Not too bad. I noted that the show was advertised as sold out... which does not mean sold out. There were more than 20 empty seats left in the place once the show began... even 2 or more together in the front row.
While sitting on the floor waiting in the almost 2 hour wait line up I was tired and bored, but mostly tired. I saw that they advertised Seattle's Best coffee. I went to see about ordering one was told to wait while the girl went and inquired about it. Ummm... it's advertised so should there not be any?? She came back to tell me, "Not right now." Not right now as in not at this moment or not at all tonight? Turns out it was latter which really annoyed me since I was told to come wait for an extended period of time with nothing to do and no coffee that was advertised on a brightly lit sign over their concession. Movie theatres do most of their business in the evening and I would expect they know that when advertising coffee.
Anyhow, I went on to order my typical movie theatre junk food of nachos & a hot dog combo for me and popcorn for the kids(they'd just had supper out with dad). The food is typical movie theatre food, but what I crave anytime I go to the theatre. I had worked in movie theatres for 10 years and have come to expect or know certain service. I was not greeted in a friendly manner and I did not get the typical "enjoy the movie" once the transaction was over... in fact I really got nothing except it being over and me walking away.
I like that this place has a lounge right in it, but it was empty. I joked with the kids about leaving them to wait in line while I went and sat in the lounge. They didn't go for this idea. As for the movie... I really enjoyed it. The seats recline(which is normal for theatres nowadays) and were comfy enough. The place was pretty clean for a theatre with sold out shows all day long.
Will I go back? More than likely as it's one of the more convenient theatres for us.
