| - Thanks to Vicki B. on Yelp, I was told to check out VEGAS DISCOUNT NUTRITION after rejoicing about a deal I received from Nutrition Rush on BCAA's. I was running out of protein and this was the perfect time to try to this store. While parking I noticed people coming out with shopping bags full of items--wow!
I was surprised that the store was so big! I was so used to seeing a few shelves with a select proteins but I was seriously overwhelmed. It made me wish I had of entered the store with a specific brand in mind. I haven't really settled on a consistent protein yet. An employee named Terrance asked me if I needed help and I said no, but quickly changed my mind. Terrance gave me a quick tour and explained that their proteins are superior to other competitors because they do not use "house brands". According to Terrance, VDN only uses the best protein available and their top of the line products contain no excess fillers like house brands. To name a few I saw Dymatize, Syntha-6, On, MuscleTech, Arnold, BPI, Dark Matter, MP and some geared towards women like HER Whey, and Fitmiss. To narrow it down I told Terrance I hated sweet protein and another employee Marc (or Mark) suggested I try AllMax ISONATURAL banana flavored. I was all for it, but wasn't too happy that the only other flavor in that brand and price was UNFLAVORED. YUCK! Terrance made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately when I got home it tasted like artificial banana "Laffy Taffy" flavor, but I decided to just stick with anyway, even though Terrance said I wasn't "bound" to it. I like to drink my protein shakes with just straight water after working out, so a couple of quick gulps during the week won't kill me.
Terrance also helped me pick an awesome brand of Glutamine powder and I realized how he was just so awesome and decided he was THE PROFESSOR X (XMEN) of VDN! I was also surprised to see various other products, like healthy food, beverages, and SWEET SWEAT products!
Seeing how everything was very well priced, I couldn't help but look for the 2 Amino Acids by "ON" that I got a supposed "deal" on at Nutrition Rush. NR had 2 Amino Acids on sale for $19.99. To my horror, VDN was selling them for the same price regularly! I felt like such a bone head boasting about a deal I received when VDN customers have been getting that deal on a daily basis! DUH!
Terrance hooked me up with free samples of pre workouts and was giving me tons of information about the nutrition, the history behind the store, and how each employee had earned credentials in nutrition and was willing to share it with customers.
As I listened to him, more and more people were entering the store. People of all shapes and sizes were coming in with a list of products to buy. Some were just new to the body building lifestyle, and some were veterans making a beeline straight to their usual isle. The popularity of the store was motivating, overwhelming, yet exciting all at the same time!
I had a great time at this store, and couldn't stop talking about it all day. Best of all, they had the mint chocolate chip Quest bar I had been looking for and could not find. I'm so glad for the customers that spread the word to me about Vegas Discount Nutrition. I will definitely pay it forward as well.
