| - Incredible, is how I'd describe our dining experience on 8/21. Our waiter was top notch and asked if we'd been there before (we hadn't) and how we heard about it (Check Please, Arizona). With that information, he walked us through the rum menu, stating that the left side are custom drinks you'll only get at this restaurant and they're purposely in 3 groups with the top section paired with the appetizer, the middle with dinner, and the bottom with dessert. We decided to try it this way. We're very glad we did.
My wife had that day's punch bowl, I had The Shorty which we paired with the Scallops. I enjoyed my whole meal, but let's just say I will come back for the scallops alone.
Next we had the Sugarfoot and the Sometime in August with dinner. My wife's Sugarfoot was her favorite drink of the night. My drink had a smokey quality to it which made it very unique. My wife had the curried Dungeness crab salad and I had the jerk pork and polenta. The pork was succulent and flavorful with just a mild kick. (Note: I like spicy food so some may find the kick more substantial than mild, but it was just enough for a pleasant warmth for me. I suspect the reviewer who found the scallops oppressively hot would disagree with me).
For dessert, my wife had Mutiny in the County, and I had Tradewind Swizzle for our drinks. Both were quite good and definitely sweet dessert drinks. Hers was very unique due to the Irish Moss ingredient. We shared the chocolate creme brulé. This was done because I'm not normally a big dessert eater and one or two bites of that will suffice and my wife can eat the rest. Well.... this creme brulé is smaller and better than most. I could have eaten my own. My wife too also enjoy her entire meal. But she said she'd come back for the dessert alone. :)
Overall, we had an enjoyable dining experience from beginning to end. We'll definitely be back. Last note: Make a reservation - this is a small restaurant and you will very likely have a bit of a wait if you just drop in.
