| - Formally know as The Dock Driving Range, it's a part of the Polson Pier Complex that has mini putt, go-karts, trapeze, a night club and much more.
We walked here - it's a long walk, and the location is pretty out of the way - I would suggest taking a car or a cab as there are no bus routes that really go here that often.
There are not many driving ranges in the heart of the city - so it's kind of got a monopoly, but what can you do when land is so expensive and parking lots are becoming condos. This place also doubles as a drive in at night - a pretty ingenues idea.
I don't know anyone who in their right mind would go here in the winter, but the multi-level complex is heated. I can only imagine shanking a ball in 40 below weather and feeling the shake and pain up that shaft, but that's just me.
The buckets of balls are a reasonable size, and I'm normally done after a bucket and a half. It's much cheaper to hit balls during the week, but as Tony F mention, buy 2 tokens for $20 is your best bet as you can use them on the weekend when the place is busier and the prices go up.
If you forget your clubs or are looking for a place to take the kids to try their hand at golf, they rent clubs and you generally get an iron and a driver/wood. The clubs are crap, but if you didn't bring your own, you can't complain.
The best part, and one that always makes a hot day better - you can purchase beer and booze in the "club house" and bring it with you to the tee. I don't think I know of any other driving range that does this.
On my last visit I only took in the driving range section, but the mini putt looks ok too. I'll be heading back this summer I'm sure.
