  • Seems like I am the first one to review this store...Ok, here I go:  I went to Kensington Market last Saturday.  After I went to Essence on my way back to get my car, I saw this store called Ding Dong Exotic Sweets just right across the parking lot.  You can tell by the name that this is a Chinese store.  But what made me curious was that they stuck a Hong Kong Mei-Xin Mooncake for pre-order on the window. Most of Chinese people know theseMei-Xin mooncakes are so popular, they are not only expensive but also are hard to buy.  Seeing this easily available is like getting a new iphone on the opening day.  Anyways,  I went in the store.  It is a very neat and simple store.  MIddle rows are for bulk candies.  People can pick their own candies.  I don't know who their target customers are but most of their products are Chinese, Japanese and Korean snacks, chips, instant noodles, candies, and drinks.  I saw a couple young non-Asian customers in the store, they were trying to buy some drinks.  But you know what?  Korean drinks usually just have some Korean words and a handsome idol print on the bottle.  These customers probably didn't have any idea what any drink was.  I saw them leavewithout buy anything.  Anyways, at the end, I bought around 30 dollars worth of snacks:  Japanese candy, Korean instant noodles...one thing I need to mention.  They do carry the #1 best Korean potato chips: Korean Honey Butter Chips.  I think if they open in China Town will have many more customers. I hope they will carry even more of a variety of snacks in the future.
