You don't find a lot of places in Arizona that make you feel a sense of history. Not the case with Wren House Brewing. The small building was a bakery in a former life, and a lot of the character was kept when they converted it to a taproom. They brew their beer onsite in a shed behind the taproom, and store not only their own brews but rent space to other local breweries in their cooler, also onsite.
We were given four different appetizers from Postino with appropriate beer pairings. Luke, our brewmaster and host, was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable and explained the pairings while answering questions about the brewery's history.
I'd love to come back here on a cooler fall/winter night with a snack in tow -- you are welcome to bring your own food (as they don't serve any) and a smaller, well-behaved dog, which is certainly a draw for me!
