| - The first warning signs were the tacky green logo and corny interior design and room style. The manager showed us to a Mountain Casita when we were unimpressed by our Spa Casita's lack of view and mediocre feel, but the step-up felt like a prison. White cement walls that tried to be cool but just weren't. For $750 a night it was just so beyond sub-par and disappointing. $400/$500 maybe-- but the only thing 5 star about this hotel was the free water bottles they showered you with upon entry and exit. The restaurant was good, not great, and certainly not sparkling clean, and the concierges were unhelpful, particularly Rebecca who was trying to pretend so hard to be nice as she strained to send us on adventures around town that were dog-friendly. We asked her for a delicious sandwich suggestion and she sent us to a Panera-style restaurant (if that's any indication as to her acumen). Ask for Diane instead and you'll be in good hands. The manager was also lovely and warm, along with the bellman, but trust me, and only go there if you get a package rate. When we checked out, we just shook our heads and wrote this off as the biggest waste of money spent to date. 4K for our room+ $600 for a New Years Eve dinner (that I got sick all night from) = a painful, painful waste of money. We regretted not staying at The Four Seasons, which we're sure would have been way nicer experience.
