I'm a Bobby Flay fan and was finally got a chance to try Mesa Grill on my most recent Vegas trip. We originally tried to walk in for dinner on a Friday night, but was told they were booked for the night. The restaurant was almost completely empty, so I didn't really understand. We returned again the next day to try brunch.
The brunch menu didn't seem very appealing to me, but we were starving and didn't want to go searching for something else. To start we ordered the hash brown quesadilla. I thought it was amazingly delicious. The bacon had a nice smokey flavor and the fried egg just added to the flavor.
For entrees we got scrambled eggs chilaquile, sweet potato hash, mesa burger and the steak and eggs. The steak and eggs is served with tortillas where you can build your own mini breakfast burrito. The steak was cooked beautifully with the right amount of pink. Chilaquile is served on a blue corn tortilla with creme fraiche. The blue corn had a nice bold flavor and the whole dish meshed very well together. Mesa burger was nothing special. I was not a fan of the sweet potato hash, but that might be because I'm not too big on sweet potato. However, no one was particularly fond of this dish so it can be skipped in my opinion. The highlight of the meal was the hash brown quesadilla.
Overall I thought the pricing was a bit high for brunch and would not return again for brunch. I would possibly return one day again for dinner though.
