| - I got a "free haircut" card at the Rainbows Festival. (What an excellent marketing tool--I used it of course! FREE! WEE!) I had seen this place before getting the free cut, and thought "meh" ... parking over there is such a battle, etc...probably won't try it. I am SO GLAD today that I did try it, and it was because of that card.
I got set up online via the check-in feature which I thought was really cool because you can kind of almost see their computer from your home and pick a slot accordingly. They put me with Zach--GREAT conversationalist (like the dude you are glad to see at your favorite bar or something) really had a great time talking to him and the topics were spot on with what I am going thru in life.
That all being said, we got into such good conversation I didn't really notice that he was doing a DAMN good job on my hair which has been difficult for other barbers/stylists because it is so thick. He is very good at his craft - I highly recommend him if you are doing a men's cut or you want a shave or anything along those lines.
Thru the course of the convo, I found out that he knew one of my main go-to dudes for barbershop trims in the neighborhood (a local joint down the street) and was actually trained by him. I think Zach said he was the only licensed barber at Bishops too, so I am glad he was there actually. All the others are cosmetology hair stylists.
On a sidenote, I noticed that even though they are a growing chain/franchise type place, they have definitely not lost that local neighborhood feeling with the art, the people, and the high vibe spirit of the joint. They are very pro-local art scene, etc. I really liked it! All in all it was an ultra-EXCELLENT experience, and I will definitely be back.
