Such a cool concept; I would recommend to anyone looking for something different. I went for the first time this past Sunday. It was a little after lunch, not too crowded. The waiter did a good job showing us the different size bowls for the build your own bowl. Like I said, it was my first time - I got the medium bowl for $12.50 and it was so much food.
So what you do is pick your meats - and they have a large selection (steak, chicken, shrimp, bacon, etc); add dry seasoning then pick your veggies and then pick a liquid sauce. You can sample the liquid sauces before committing. I picked the island teriyaki and it was tasty. But after you make the bowl with the raw ingredients you take it to their grill; this is when they ask what starch you want - rice, noodles, etc and then they cook it all in the open on this grill. A few minutes later the waiter brings it to your table.
If you pick the right ingredients you can have an enjoyable meal. And if you don't know where to start, they have suggestion cards - aka recipes. But the medium was very filling. For me it was two meals. The prices seem a little high; so may want to check out during a weekday lunch. But since it was my first time there, I signed up for their rewards program & they give you a FREE appetizer or dessert. Definitely want to do that.
