| - Very discouraging first experience with trying on wedding dresses. NY Bride & Groom was recommended to me by a friend so I went in feeling hopeful that I could find a great dress at a great price. Their website encouraged brides to visit alone, so I didn't feel bad doing so. I was greeted when I walked up to the counter, given a 30 second tour then was set up in a dressing room and told to have at it. I felt discouraged going through all of the dresses because I didn't know where to begin, how the sizes ran (on the small or big size?) and I felt plain overwhelmed by the experience since I was completely foreign to wedding dress shopping. I went through all of the racks and chose 4 dresses of my liking. I then proceeded to try on the dresses, which was quite the task being that I was by myself. I really liked one of the dresses on me, however, I would have loved to have help with the fitting. I couldn't find the consultant that was "helping" me, so I got dressed and left. No one ever came to ask if I needed help. There was never a time that anyone asked me my name, what I was looking for, etc. Maybe it's because the boutique advertises that they have "affordable" dresses that their customer service isn't the greatest, but regardless if I'm going to spend $1,000 or more on anything I would hope I would have a more pleasant experience. Will not be returning.
