First off, I wanted to thank the Service director Brandon for accepting my used Antifreeze when I was having trouble disposing of it elsewhere in the city. I understand the dealer pays someone to remove this so this made me think higher of the location.
I would say that the only thing to ruin this experience would be the interaction I had with the people working there. Once I arrived I waited in the service line under the ramada awaiting assistance. After 5 minutes someone approached me and asked if I needed assistance. I explained how the service department said on the phone that it would be ok for me to dispose of my automotive fluids there. The man seemed confused and I informed him that Brandon was on board with it. He said he would go get him but instead returned with another man (assuming a manager) named mike who was bald.
While approaching he made minimal eye contact and I had to repeat my intentions of why I was there once more. He finally realized I needed to dispose of these chemicals and proceeded to remove them from my car. I attempted to assist him by lifting the box but he rejected my help and said 'the box is coming apart dude'. After him and his assistant removed all the chemical containers they walked around the corner with no closure of the transaction.
As a man I don't appreciate being called 'dude' in a professional setting. I also felt as if I was inconveniencing them when the dealer was trying to do a good thing which makes me feel unsettling of their service. Mike the bald guy carries a semi-aggressive body language and does not create incentive for me to return to this place.
I do own 2 toyotas and am looking into more private mechanic work for saving money and more honesty. Toyota dealer said my radiator was leaking but I double inspected it with no fluid under or around the engine compartment. Also the new rack and pinion was over $1000 to change, but my power steering fluid was not leaking to any measure. Good thing I looked at it myself.
