| - Of the many Sam Woo BBQ locations that we have been to in California, this used to be our favorite one. We usually make it a point to come here right before heading home after a Vegas trip.
Our experiences have always been positive - in their service and food quality. This last time that we were here, the kind older ladies that usually work the counter were not there and instead there was a 30-something hateful lady who was taking to-go orders.
You know sometimes you get those service people who randomly go out of their way to be a jerk "just because"? Well, she was doing that. I'm pretty sure she was pretending not to understand Cantonese, just for the sick pleasure of making us repeat ourselves over and over. Strike one.
When she handed us our take-out, my sister was just trying to peek in the bag to make sure there were enough utensils for everyone. Mind you, no one was behind us in line, but the woman kept insisting that there were both forks and spoons inside the bag. Like a malfunctioning robot "Forks and spoons are in the bag. They're in the bag. They're in the bag. They're in the bag..." Um, crazy much? Strike two.
Of course when we get to the car and check, there were no forks to be seen. When my sister went back in to get some forks, the woman feigned surprise like "Oh really??? I thought I put them in there... oooooops" To top off this bizarre experience, our order was totally wrong, and one box was missing from it altogether - which we unfortunately didn't realize until we were already on the road. Strike three.
I would have given 1 star, but I will leave the extra star in hopes that the next time I'm in town, those sweet older ladies are back.
