  • One of the best pubs on 17th. I took a friend from Halifax there one night and he grew confused, suggesting that while he knew Calgary was the nautical capital of the Prairies, he could go to a pub like this in Halifax. Which is true, but that's why it works here. It's always packed and on weekend afternoons, they usually have an acoustic open mic/jam thing happening. Not all of them are real musicians, but it gives the pub a nice feel on a Saturday afternoon. The patio is large and always full, too. Great selection of beer and it does remind me of a Maritime pub -- in the best way possible.
