  • Be prepared to spend 4-5 hours in this jam-packed museum (although some areas felt sparse and others a little too much info). Overall, it is a real gem. The museum was absolutely slammed when I was there and it was frustrating getting through there since a lot of the physical displays are small, so you need to get close to them to see, and some of the movie areas don't have a lot of room or seating. From start to finish, it was a constant heavy press of people in front and behind me. So I recommend trying for not on a weekend day, or you will spend even more time just waiting for people to get out of your way. And wear comfy shoes. It is so full of info that by the time I got to the bottom floor, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and exhausted (but I love that in a museum, LOL). Some displays are a bit on the side of high-production fluff over real substance, but there is still tons of in-depth and interesting info. Unlike some other reviewers, I did not feel like the museum was biased towards the mafia, or towards law, there was a lot of coverage of both and it's mostly neutral. Certainly, it doesn't glorify the mob, and they clearly show the negative consequences of being in the mafia. There is a mob museum in Little Rock, AR which clearly fanboys the mob a lot more (though that is an okay museum too). This place is not suitable for younger children, mostly because they will be super bored. Also not suitable for people who have issues with seeing pictures and movies of dead bodies. This is an adult museum which will be enjoyed by history buffs. I hope they'll continue to flesh out some of the more barren areas of the museum (like some of the third floor and the casino area, for example). But this is one of the best, if not *the* best museum experience in Vegas, and money well spent. Just go check it out. Although it's not posted, ask for the locals discount if you're a local.
