  • I initially wrote a glowing review of this place when I first moved in the beginning of 2016. After 18 months of living there - I would never recommend to live here. Since the beginning at Citrine we have had constant struggles with management, policies and procedures. It became increasingly difficult as the staff continued to change and rules changed along with new staff. This is unsettling, as Citrine brands itself as a "luxury" residence, and one would expect a level of customer service to match. The following is just some of the issues we encountered since living here: The apartments have decent appliances - however nowhere near top of the line as they advertise. The ovens are terrible. There is little to no insulation - you can hear your neighbors all around and if you live below someone it is absolutely a nightmare. The cabinetry is super cheap - we had our kitchen drawers fall apart on us multiple times. The office gave us the wrong light bulbs in our pendent lights - they would "pop" every other week, the last time they popped I thought the light was going to catch fire. Our washer broke on us the first day we moved int, they sent us to another unit to do laundry where that washer broke too. Our AC stopped working 3 different times during the summer. The grout is not sealed properly - they spent about a month cleaning and sealing the main hallways but its the same in the bathrooms - when we moved out they tried to charge us for grout cleaning even they know its an issue. The carpet is super cheap, you can't keep it clean - it attracts dirt terribly. When we moved out they refused to clean it and charged us to replace the entire apartments carpet instead because their "3rd party vendor" who heavily advertises that they can "clean anything" with pictures, said that it needed to be replaced. Security gates break all the time, the doors that require a key fob fail as well so the "secure" building is left open. The hot tub breaks at least twice a month. Valet trash - you have to pay the $35 a month fee no matter what, they don't come on Fridays or Saturdays which is needed. Water is billed on a community basis as well - so all that grass, pools, landscaping, amenities etc - you are paying for a portion of it. They have the highest turnover of employees I have ever seen. They advertise unsurpassed amenities however if you make friends with your neighbors and use those amenities management will say that it was a "large" gathering and charge you an astronomical fee - you can't have more than 4 people in the clubhouses, even if its 6 residents all paying rent without paying them a fee. Our final straw was the fire alarms sounding at 1am when an apartment flooded and then flooded more apartments below frying the alarms - they had to wait 45 minutes for a maintenance guy to come and unlock the closet with the water heater in it - to shut the water off and the alarms. Living at Citrine became a nightmare - moving out of Citrine was also a nightmare with their need to gouge you on taking all of your deposits and then getting more money out of you. They aren't in the business of customer service or recognizing that this is where you live - they are in the business of being bullies when you live there and you have no other choice but to conform or face their wrath which can result in your credit being affected or previous living history. With all of the new options in the same area I would keep driving and find another place to call home. UPDATE: after much going back and forth with fees they took all of our security deposits plus requested more money. Since we did not want our credit affected we were left with no choice but to pay. We had 30 days to remit payment which we did and were just notified today that Citrine sent us to collections already - 4 days prior to the due date. I can only sum up that this is once again retaliation towards their residents because of my Yelp review. I highly discourage anyone to ever consider this community until new management comes in.
