I am so grateful that I'd checked Yelp to get a recommendation to this practise! (Thanks M.L.!!!!)
For many years I've had such mediocre Veterinarians that I stopped believing there were any great ones. That's changed now.
My experiences at Mississauga Animal Hospital began with prescription food purchases and the girls at the desk were all friendly and welcoming.
Then I noticed that my cat's tumour came back (it had been removed a couple years ago and reappeared in the same place). I was frantic. I called the office and spoke with the assistant about my concerns and asked that she get my cat's files before I make an appointment. No problem. They contacted my past Vets - despite the inconvenient time difference - and Dr. Walker himself gave me a call once he'd reviewed the files. That was Thursday afternoon. He was so flexible and considerate that he said he could fit me in the next morning. I took the cat in and met Dr. Walker who was patient and professional. I didn't feel dismissed with my 101 questions and the appointment was not rushed at all. Dr. Walker ordered blood work, which was done then, and said he'd follow up the next day. I had to work all weekend so asked if I could call him on Monday. Of course was how he responded. I felt much less stress when I left the office, believing that this Doctor really cared about his patients and their owners.
Today Dr. Walker called me and went through ALL of the results, explaining which each test result actually MEANT in layman's terms - that was a new experience for me - and discussed how we could proceed. Usually I get the feeling that Vets don't really care about the owners feelings, or the pet's for that matter, and are willing to do the most invasive treatments that cost the most money without looking at other options. Not Dr. Walker.
Again, I'm soooo grateful that I found this place and know I will stay faithful to them. I sing the praises of the Mississauga Animal Hospital!!!
