| - Saturday morning at approximately 11 am, I went to get my car washed at Jacksons Car Wash at Tempe Marketplace. I just wanted a quick wash but as I was exiting the car, I mentioned to the guy up front that there were a couple of spots on my backseat and I'd appreciate it if they had something quick to get it out. Immediately, the guy said he had something they could put on the seats and that it would only take a couple of minutes. I really didn't want to pay the additional $25 to get it done but thought it might be a good test in case I got future spots on the fabric.
I paid and then waited for my car to come through on the other side, just like I'd done many, many times. There weren't many cars there that day and the guys on the line were playing around like they were in a men's locker room. Still, I wasn't looking for quality. I was only looking for a quick wash.
The problem started when instead of calling me over to come get my car, one of the managers jumped in the driver's seat and just left. I went up to one of the guys on the line to ask where they had taken my car and they told me it had been taken to the detail department. I was immediately agitated because I wanted a quick wash, not a detail. I was explaining this to the guys in the detail department when the detail manager came up. I told him I didn't want the detail service any longer, that I realized he had to deal with the problem someone else had created, and I just wanted my money back for the service that hadn't yet been performed.
And btw - even though my car had just been on the wash side, there was still heavy visible dirt on the car just behind the wheels. The car wasn't even clean! That's when the guy who had sold me the seat cleaning came up. I flat out told him he misled me, that this service wasn't as he described it. He argued with me and told me that it would only take an additional twenty minutes...which is no short amount of time!
That's when the facility manager, David, jumped in. I, again, reiterated that I just wanted my money back for the service that hadn't yet been performed. David's response was to tell me to calm down and stop arguing with him so they can do their job...and they made me wait on the curb for twenty minutes while they performed a service on my car I didn't even want.
These people are money-grubbing thugs and at one point, all 5'1" of me had three grown men, who were supposed to be managers surrounding me and yelling at me. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN, DO NOT GO HERE. This place is dangerous. They ripped me off and held me and my car hostage. I probably should have called the police.
And for the record, this incident happened on Saturday. I left a message at Jacksons corporate office immediately after this incident occurred. It is now Tuesday and I still haven't heard from them. So don't let them fool you by popping on here and acting like they want to settle this incident offline. A lifetime of free carwashes wouldn't convince me to step one foot back on that property. It's just not worth the hassle of dealing with people that have no respect for you or your property.
