| - TOP 7 REASONS YOU'LL PROBABLY END UP GOING TO SEE LE REVE @ WYNN
(...despite the fact that it's kind of a boring hunk o' sh-t)
#7. REALLY, THERE'S NO BAD SEATS.
You'll probably ignore this review & buy some lame expensive seats anyway but seriously. Try not to be stupid: There really are no bad seats in this joint & your voyeuristic ass does NOT need to know what's going on "backstage" so don't go buying that package with the "monitors". Trust me - I've had the monitors. It's something that's there only to take your mind off the fact that you're getting sleepy... very sleepy. In the end, you'll want to spend as little as possible on this show.
#6. CREATED BY DRAGONE
Created by the infamous mind behind several of Cirque d' Soleil's other Vegas shows along with the Celine Dion show of the past decade, Le Reve was built from day one to compete with the also-Dragone-created 'O' & its somewhat famous but esoteric water ballet.
....What? You say you're not excited? Really? I'm shocked. Yeah, I didn't buy into the hype either.
Note to Guys: I didn't think the show was all that great but apparently ladies & other effeminate-types seem to squeal with delight over the "male swimmer's bodies". So ladies - enjoy the "ambiguous beefcake". Hey - I'm just sayin'.
#5. THINGS COULD BE WORSE.
Hey, it's still better than Cirque du Soleil's 'LOVE', 'Mystere', & 'Zumanity'... but it doesn't trump 'O' or 'Ka'. It's quite average for the most part... in other words, you could do worse. And it beats what it could have been playing here which was a rehash of the ill-fated "Miss Spectacular". (Look it up, Sherlock)
#4. IT'S AT THE WYNN!
Beautiful arena, elegant & tasteful restaurants, a casino w/ reasonable table rules, loose slots, comfortable rooms...
Why else wouldn't you want to waste 2 hours watching a half-baked production of a psuedo-Cirque like show? Good times!
#3. WHAT ELSE ARE YOU GONNA DO?
When you've seen everything else in Vegas, eventually you'll have to pay homage this train wreck that still stands despite the perpetual panning by critics whose highest compliment appears to be, "Well... it seems to be getting better than when they used to drop pregnant women from the ceiling." (I sh-t you not. Again, search for it if you don't believe me.) I can't think of any other mega-production that's gotten such weak reviews. Well, other than "Believe", of course.
#2. IT SURVIVED 2 TONY AWARD WINNING MUSICALS
That's right. Sit in awe of the fact that the folks at Wynn shut down not just one but TWO Tony Award-winning, off-Broadway shows like "AvenueQ" & "SPAMalot"... but they somehow kept THIS cobbled together reject from Circus Circus. Yeah, I don't get it either. And yes, I saw both AvenueQ & SPAMalot & both were much more entertaining than Le Reve. I suppose this was because of the patronage of the 'Aristocrats'. (See below)
#1. ARISTOCRATS!
Oh - this could be the best part of the show: If you haven't seen "people-with-assloads-of-cash" sitting in the exact same seating that you & your frat brothers have, you're in for a treat. The seating might look something like this: Elegant-but-aristocratic-couple-in-their-60's, Family-of-5-with-2-squirming-hormone-laden-adolescents, Ed-Hardy-wearing-Douchebag-with-his-hottie-blinged-out-GF, Rich-Asian-couple-on-vacation/business/visiting-relatives-in-Henderson, Two-college-kids-high-on-weed. Repeat as necessary.
I've noticed that some of these aristocrat types near the front tend to overly imbibe at the show... so if you're lucky, you'll catch a couple so drunk off their asses at the show that they'll start throwing their drinks into the water like monkeys at the zoo throwing their poo.
CONCLUSION:
This is one of those shows where you won't quite know when the show's over until they purposefully come out & bow & you say to yourself, "Uh, so I guess that's it?" Buy the cheapest tickets you can for this show then get faced early because this show is BORRRRING. It's not quite a lobotomy, but it feels like it.
2-Stars.

TOP 3 GAMES YOU CAN PLAY WHILE WATCHING LE REVE:
#3. FIND THE NINTENDO
See if you can find the kid in the audience that's basically "had enough" & has resorted to playing his Nintendo DS instead of watching the show. This might also be a "Blackberry" user. Watch for security to come down from the edges to explain to them that 'they can't do that'.
#2. RED HOTNESS: THE DRINKING GAME
Have everyone bring drinks. Every time they show the chick with the shapely body in the red dress, you get to drink... but only while she's on stage. The moment she's gone - no more alcohol. You'll find yourself DYING during the lulls.
#1. I SPY... SNOOZERS?
Play the childhood favorite: I SPY... a dude who's fallen asleep! This is the best part of the show because you really have no idea how many people are finding the show a snoozer until you really focus on the audience.
