  • One? Should be 0. I see all these 5 star reviews and I have to wonder if they are factual reviews or "rigs". This is Sunday Labor Day weekend. Family and I are here visiting from NY and Chicago. We are heading to Los Angeles for business and family. We get a tire alert on our rental car via the dashboard gauge alert system signaling that we have a flat tire, an air pressure issue one or more tires or a tire losing air. We went to Walmart on Elliot and Guadalupe-no auto center. We went to Discount in Tempe, AZ they are closed. Our 3rd stop was to this place- What a joke. The parking lot has lots of cars, the door to the shop is open and is staffed with at least 3 employees. One hefty dude behind the counter looks puzzled. Says to me Can I help you? I respond well I would like you to take a look at a tire that we think has a nail or screw in it and we would need a repair. He smiles largely and says "We're closed." In the first place the lot didn't appear as if they are closed or we wouldn't have stopped. There are no signage stating it was closed. The door to the shop office is open, there are 2 visible employees. Next, he didn't say they were closed until I asked for repair. If they were honestly closed why did he wait to see what service I needed before he informed me they were closed. (?) I don't believe for a minute they were closed-nothing indicated they were. Myself and family think he decided they were closed when we needed a simple repair instead of purchasing $$$ tires. At a minimum- since the family member driving was female, the employee behind the counter should have as a courtesy offered to check the tire and assist us in finding an open tire shop where we could go for assistance. That would have been customer service. Then again we didn't want to purchase a tire just needed tire assistance. Wait a minute isn't that what they are? Oh no wait a minute they were closed. Yeah right- well whatever happened to plain old customer service whether you are open or not? When you see someone in distress on a Sunday Labor day weekend would it really have been asking to much for someone to take 10 minutes out of their ever so busy Sunday Labor day weekend day and assist? I have assisted many customers without agenda, just because that is business saavy customer service. Word of mouth travels when you are good to customers without any benefit to me or my businesses. Family men asked us when we arrived and told them whatever happened to the real men out there? Trust this-we have an enormous family/friends and acquaintance circle and we will put the word out. Bottom line is I own two businesses and maintain 2 land and home auction sites of my own. If I ever catch one of my employees behaving in a questionable manner that is not consistent in the best interest of the public or customer service in its entirety OR find out that one of my male employees did not assist a female when she is in distress, they can certainly find another job. We all believe in chivalry. ethics, integrity and customer service. Your shop fell dangerously short today. Try helping others once in awhile, it comes back to you in great volume.
