| - Had dinner here tonight around 6:15. There was quite a line of people but we got seated within 20 minutes, which was great.
First of all, walking inside the restaurant, there was a strong scent of frying oil. I assume the ventilation inside is not strong enough. I've been to KFC and Popeyes without smelling that much oil frying.
We told the hostess our party had 4 people, when she walked us to the table, she took away a setting and set the table for 3, I didn't understand why she did that. So we asked a server to get us another setting, I'm not sure if he didn't hear us or if he was confused because we had to point out what a "table setting" was before he went to get it.
We didn't do the AYCE, just a few menu items:
Unagi & Avocado Roll:
The sushi roll was made badly, the rice was falling apart and there was a lot of avocado, barely any eel and smothered in way too much sauce.
Donburi:
Donburi is a combo of thin sliced beef (that is NOT all lean meat), egg, onions over rice with sauce in it. The one we got was dry, barely any sauce until you hit way bottom. The beef used was all lean and definitely not thinly sliced.
Kids Popcorn Chicken & Teriyaki Chicken meals:
The popcorn chicken was overcooked. They definitely fried it for too long. It was dry and some pieces had a burnt taste. My son ate a few pieces and said he didn't like it. The Teriyaki chicken was also overcooked. The chicken was hard to chew.
Service:
We saw a lot of servers walking around, but it didn't look like they were doing anything productive. Only the manager (we assume, he was well dressed not in server type uniform) came by multiple times to see if our table was doing OK. Otherwise, the server would come by drop off food and disappear before we can even ask for anything.
Maybe, we'll give it another try in the future, but for now, it was not the dinner we expected to have.
