| - I love tiki. I love the warm vibes, the sweet drinks, and the fiery garnishes, and I try to check out a tiki bar in every city I visit. From Paris to Wilmington, NC, I've sampled the Polynesian offerings all over the world, and let me say as far as an experience is concerned, The Shameful Tiki room might be my favorite.
From a mixology perspective, the top prize goes to Smugglers cove in San Francisco hands down, but that sets the bar incredibly high, and as far as close seconds, Shameful Tiki is up there. My group of six tried a variety of drinks, from Mai Tais to Zombies to the Three Dots and a Dash, which was incredibly strong. Nothing beat the Volcano bowl, though. Cinnamon-infused and rummy, it's a perfect share portion for you and three buds. The best part, though? The plumes of smoke and Legends of the Hidden Temple-esque announcement of the bowl's arrival at your table. Tiki is supposed to be about light hearted, silly fun, and this takes it to a whole other level.
The bartenders are super friendly, and even on a busy Friday night, they were happy to accommodate our big party.
