  • I lived here about a year and I, too, was drawn in by the contemporary, modern take of the place. It shines bright for the area, right off the 17, easy access, beautiful interiors, visibly well kept amenities, nicely lit gated community. It seems like a great option considering everything else around although the price is high. Most are willing to pay the lil extra for these facts. With that being said as many of these reviews have eluded to, there are serious issues underlying at this property and it starts and ends with the property management (Jodi). There will always be feedback of some sort which is expected and appreciated negative or positive. What you should be on high alert is for consistent comments about management... Skip reviews about how nice everyone was when signed the lease. Skip the reviews about people's feelings before they lived there - because I know Ave 25 use to have a deal, prob still do, that if you provide a 5 star Yelp you get a discount on first month rent. So as you can see the motivation behinds reviews is just as important as the review itself. My story is unique to the fact I actually enjoyed the property. Made some neighbor friends, always used the amenities - gym, pool, grill which where kept in great condition. Yes there was some issues with scorpions and such. It took about three trips to the office and being added to the monthly spray list but got it taken care of. All in all I didn't have complaints. UNTILLLLL... Multiple events occurred where management was unorganized, unknowledgeable and non accountable! Not to mention, they would straight up lie. Jodi and her staff are very shady when it came down to taking responsibility for their mistakes. First, there were multiple multiple break ins to cars. The office was aware but didn't want to alert the community. (Hello neighborhood watch) All us neighbors were talking about it, we all knew and thought management should have taken an active approach. Instead they didn't want people to know and tried to keep it as isolated incidents, which they weren't. Yes there was a nightly security guy who drove through the property. That is not an active approach ave25. The guy came the exact same times everyday. If I was a theft or criminal I would also be aware of that fact. Thus why break ins continued to happen. The office just has their blanket response for everything and let's call it what it is BS. Don't give me the standard, well we have this service we provide to detract that kind of activity. We aren't liable, blah blah. I totally get it, but if you know your area is struggling with a specific matter then all hands should be involved helping solve the issue. Esp at the rate it was happening. My car never got broken into either. I'm speaking on what I saw and heard - communicating on the lack of action and accountability of management. Now to the straw that broke the camels back. Without getting into every detail, this review is already a novel, I had legal proof/evidence that management was falsifying leasing documents. I brought to them a huge concern with the property. They advised I take specific action through a service provider of their choice, which I did. After the service, I felt uneasy about the results like something seemed off. So I got a second inspection if you will by a nationally well known service provider who gave me completely opposite results. The office attempted to make me pay for the service they set up. Then harassed me day after day saying I was responsible and needed to take care of the issues at hand or there would be consequences. This is even after I gave them a copy of the secondary work I had done stating their claims were not true. So I asked for them to print my lease since the ability to print off line was conveniently down. Here is were the fireworks happened. The office manager, Jodi, gave me my documents with an ADDED addendum. SMH. Thankfully the electronic signature for signing the lease is through a third party. Everything I signed through them was electronically accounted for page by page(26in all), listed what it was etc. Tell me why I was given 27 pages. And to top it off all of the original documents were dated one date and the ADDED page was dated the day I asked for my lease. I was completely shocked and disgusted. They were trying to make me foot the bill for something that one, wasn't even true, and two didn't fall under my responsibility as a renter. They made several mistakes and not once owned up to just taking care of it. That's all people want, honest interactions and accountably of actions. Needless to say, I didn't want to live in a place where integrity and character was compromised. I requested and was granted out of my lease with no penalties or fees. Moral: listen to your gut, always read your agreements and pay attention to reviews consistently outing management. Advise: look for something other than Berkshire communities.
