| - The staff is real friendly at Yoyo's Yogurt Cafe. Unlike their competitors down the street -- where you're pretty much on your own -- at Yoyo's you are greeted as you as soon as you walk in. On my first visit a kindly staffer walked me through the entire process. You grab a tub, and select from one of the many yogurty flavours available. These rotate frequently, and are voted upon by users visiting their website!
Grab a mini cup if you want to sample any of the flavours. There's strawberry, vanilla, peanut butter and chocolate(!), original tart, green tea, and they even some dairy-free options. There are two flavours in a machine, so you can swirl them together if you like, but I prefer my flavours unswirled because I'm flavor-racist.
I tried original tart and the peanut butter and chocolate. I liked the flavoured yogurt a lot, it had a real nice consistency and PB and chocolate combine well (obviously). As for the original tart, I've had better; it was a bit melty actually, but that could have been an anomaly. Topping-wise they have a wide array of options, and a few creative picks that you can't get down the street. Like why not douse your creation with a scoop of real cookie dough? Or some crushed up Skor?
They also serve coffee (including beans!) and have free WiFi. Could be an interesting spot to get some work done. At the risk of becoming morbidly obese that is.
Obligatory Title Pun: It has its UPS and DOWNS.
Menu Readability: Everything is very well-labelled and I like the signage on the machines.
Need to mention: They have a patio out front, which is heated in the autumn.
What this place teaches me about myself: I don't know how to yo-yo. How did I miss that part of my childhood?
