| - Ah a restaurant I forgot to review during restaurant week!
My husband and I had a show at the Pub we were attending, and it was restaurant week. At the last minute before we went to the show, we decided to make a reservation and try yet another Michelin Star restaurant. And, like some of the other Michelin Star restaurants I have been to in Las Vegas, this was a bit of a disappointment for me. I just don't think the food warrants the prices they charge, even for restaurant week. We also got the wine pairings, and I was annoyed they poured barely a sip of each wine.
For appetizer: I had the Seared Diver Scallop (yes one scallop). It was good, and it had some caviar that was tasty on top. I just wished there was at least two or three scallops on the plate. My husband had the french onion soup and he thought it was delicious, but he enjoys the Mon Ami Gabi version more.
Main Course: I had the free range chicken, husband had the fillet of beef. I found the chicken to be fairly lackluster, and I feel like I've had better. If you've read Candace's review of Alize in the Palms of the chicken there, this is practically the same dish. I didn't really want to finish it, but my husband liked it. His fillet was okay, but we've had better at other restaurants, such as Stripsteak. As I said, this is a Michelin Star restaurant so I expected much better.
Desert: I had the souffle of the day, a raspberry souffle with chambord sauce. This was good, but I haven't had desert souffles before to compare. I liked it mainly because it wasn't too sweet if you avoid the sauce. My blood sugar thanked me for this desert. My husband on the other hand had the creme brulee which was pretty delicious and well made. But I liked my less sweet souffle better.
All in all this was an ok meal. But honestly, had it not been for restaurant week I wouldn't have gone here, and I wouldn't go here to pay for a regular meal.
I want to mention the decor, because normally I feel ok in high end restaurants, except for this one. I felt completely out of place. Being in this restaurant was like being in a museum. And the service is good, but they had the food in metal covers, and had the waiter raise them at our table at the same time. I thought that was silly and it made me giggle because it was so pretentious.
