Was looking for advice on purchasing a water softener and made the mistake of trusting the employee at this store knew what he was talking about. I ordered the installation as well and was told that the installer would deliver the water softener which weighed close to 100 lbs. Unfortunately when they rung up the order they didn't ring it up to include delivery so I had to load the water softener into my car and take it home with me. When the plumber came out to install it he told me the water softener wasn't compatible with my house since the water pipe is in my garage and there's no drainage in my garage. It would have been nice if the employee asked me about drainage. The day I returned the water softener it was over 110 degrees and I had to load it back into my car and return it myself. After returning the water softener I asked an associate in their plumbing department about whole house water filters that didn't require drainage. He told me the water in Phoenix is fine and he didn't think I needed a water filter. He must live in a different Phoenix than I do. Had other issues a few days later when I returned a defective thermostat and I thought the manager was very rude. I filed a complaint with Home Depot's customer service department and was told that I would receive a call back within two days. A week later I called customer service back to let them know I never received a call. They apologized and assured me that I would receive a call from the district manager within two days. That was about a month ago and I'm still waiting for my call. There's three Home Depot's within 10 miles from my house. Although this one is the closest I see no reason to ever step foot in it again.
