I usually shy away from expensive trendy restaurants but it was my birthday, and I wasn't paying.
The food was pretty good, not the best but definitely not the worst. I had a chicken penne with a pesto cream sauce that was really rich but flavorful. The chicken was swimming in the cream sauce, but still managed to be remarkably dry. I did like the addition of the sun dried tomatoes- they were a sparse but tasty commodity on the plate.
The atmosphere is really nice, it's dim and romantic, particularly when seated in one of the round booths along the back wall. The service is prompt and friendly, unlike many of the trendy restaurants in town. We were too stuffed for dessert, unfortunately, but it sounded amazing. We did have coffee after dinner, but my espresso was a bit more bitter than it needed to be.
If you want to impress your date, this is a great place for that. Just make sure they aren't vegetarian because there isn't much on the menu for the veg-heads.
