Well Bashas sales volume is down in the Phoenix area, and I'm beginning to understand why. Yesterday December 21st I went to the Basha's on Thunderbird Road and 75th Avenue and one of the things that I bought was they had some ground sirloin on sale. That's good, but when I got home and opened it up and looked at it, it wasn't freshly ground as they said it's been, but ground quite a while ago because it was dark brown in the middle. The outside was red but inside was dark brown.
So I decided to take it back and as I approached the service counter, the service man was at the other end of the counter and didn't acknowledge me or welcome me. In fact one of the packing clerks called out to him and then he came over said 'yeah". I said I bought this meat yesterday and it's brown inside and I made up one hamburger it tastes terrible. His response was we grind it every 3 hours I can't see how that could be. I said well take a look it's brown inside.
So he ssys "Well okay" and they gave me my money back, but made me feel bad for even asking.
Before I left, I had to go to the restroom. A restroom is kind of an indicator of how well an establishment is run. That restroom was terrible! There's no toilet paper; the floor had a lot of pee everywhere and so revolting that I had to get out of there and go get some of those little hand wipes that they have when you walk in the store and wipe off my shoes and then I left. I can tell you I will never go back never never never
