Last week my friend took me to see this show with some of his siblings & considering we got them an hour before the show they were pretty good seats. I have never seen the movie but I love a good show so I went into this very optimistically. Unless you are a major fan of 80's hair metal I think you will be safe with going with the discounted seats instead of the front section because the view was quite decent. Generally I love V.I.P. seating but we were in some E rows (I think) & they were very close to the stage.
A few things. This show is not "friendly for all." Keep it 18+ is my opinion. Or at least 16+ with parental supervision because there were some VERY young ones next to me & considering I don't think sheltering kids does them any good, I still don't think it's a family friendly show. Lot's of sexual innuendo, do your children a favor & go see the Blue Man Group instead. They don't need to sit there all awkward when the bare asses of strippers are grinding around the pole. I also don't want to have to sit there & listen to "Mommy why are they doing that??," when I'm trying to enjoy Stacee Jaxx's abs of steel. Just sayin'!!! :-P
If we are being honest this is one of the corniest shows I have ever been too. BUT if you walk into it expecting it, it's still a very enjoyable show. Go into it knowing that you will get a Will Ferrel type of laugh & you will enjoy yourself. Yes the storyline is predictable & the jokes are cheesy but the music was fun if you like hair metal & the cast was very talented. I'm not an 80's child but I knew a lot of the songs. There was a lot of heart in the show & I had a blast.
There is some crowd interaction & you can expect a lot of drunk honky-tonk people singing along & stumbling to the restroom during the show. I got an extra show during the 7 minute intermission because some drunk guy was giving his wife a lap dance. His wife even pulled out a real lighter during one of the songs & got in trouble. These things added to the trashy metal vibe & oddly made the experience more endearing. I would not recommend this kind of behavior at other Vegas shows but here it was just fine.
It was a good time & the performers do a great job. Go see it if you love rock n roll, plays, & goofy, dirty jokes all wrapped into one experience. :-D
P.S. I never got or even saw these free LED lighters that some people in other reviews are mentioning but no one was using them anyway so I'm not disappointed.
