| - I just had the Scottish Egg accompanied by the refreshing cucumber and St. Germain liquor, Ramsay Tonic - delicious!
The egg was soft boiled and wrapped in thinly sliced beef and dipped in a flour batter and baked...it was served with balsamic caramelize onions and some micro greens...all I can say is that the photo I included, does not do it justice, as it was layered with different textures and flavors, and I loved the kick and zing of the tasty mustard sauce.
Adam, the server, was terrific, and knew all of the ingredients of the Ramsay tonic and the Scotch Egg, and enthusiastically explained how they were made. He was also personable a friendly, and I appreciated his interest in what I thought of each dish.
The Shepherd's pie was good after adding a bit of salt and pepper. Made of ground lamb, carrots and peas in a mild sauce, it came piped on top with creamy mashed potatoes. As a basic meat and potatoes type of dish, it was filling, however, I do not think I will order it again, as, to me, there just was not a lot of flavour going on in the dish. I think next time I will try the Ramsay signature fish and chips.
I decided to order the sticky toffee for dessert, as I had heard so much about it.., and Wow! Was it ever good!
It was so creamy and delicious with a moist date cake base, topped with a sweet cream ice cream and Florentine cookie, that I almost wanted to order another.
Adam came table side, and slowly drizzled the luscious warm toffee syrup over the top. This dessert together with rich hot coffee, was such a perfect ending to a tasty adventure in Gordon Ramsay's Grill and Pub!
