  • I'm really torn about how to write and rate this review. I haven't had enough negative experiences to rate it 1 or 2 stars, but there were enough flaws to rate it lower than 4 or 5. I guess I'll break it down by each aspect. Aesthetics/Grounds: 5/5 This community looks great. I don't know exactly when it was built, but it's relatively new and you can definitely tell by looking at the buildings. The pool looks great and the leasing office looks very inviting. Leasing Office/Personnel: 4/5 Before I moved in, and during the first couple of months of living there, it seemed like the leasing office had decent, normal operating hours. Shortly after, they started closing weekends with no notice and changed their hours to 10am-4pm. I'm not entirely sure why they did this, but it makes things very inconvenient for those who work a normal job. That being said, I can't fault the girls in the office. Vanessa was always super sweet and never seemed in a bad mood. She was always very helpful whenever something arose that needed addressing. Security/Maintenance:1/5 Again, when I first moved in, the security/courtesy patrol at night seemed like a nice guy. But at some point a couple months into living there, he disappeared with no explanation. I never saw anyone patrolling after that. I'm not sure if they'll get another security guard or not. I also got sick of people following me in after I opened the gate, or having people speed through the exit gate to get in. I wouldn't consider that secure, but there's not much you can do about it when there's nobody guarding the entrance either. At some point, I think the maintenance guy began doubling as security because he started getting really snarky about pool closure times. When I asked if the hot tub would be getting any hotter, I was met with "it's already set for 100 degrees." I thought it was a hot tub, but apparently he wants it to be a luke-warm tub. Pool/Hot Tub: 3/5 The pool is very pleasing to the eyes and is probably the nicest apartment pool I have ever seen. Aside from the hot tub being set so low, it still got the job done when you needed a place to relax. However, they randomly decided to close the pool around November and didn't reopen it until the end of March. The pool was their only true community amenity and they closed it for 4 months! If I had year-round access and they didn't close the pool at 10pm on the weekends, this would've gotten 5-stars. Apartments: 4/5 These were honestly the nicest apartments I found for a decent price. Anything cheaper was in a bad neighbor and looked like they hadn't been updated since 1982. For just under $700/month, I had a fairly new 1br/1ba apartment that included TV, internet and a landline. The TV was very basic satellite and didn't include any HD channels except for the local ones. Internet was decent and allowed for quality Netflix streaming. My landline was never connected to the security gate, so I had to walk out to badge in my guests (or they just followed in another resident). The apartment was clean, appliances worked, and I never had any issues. It felt like home and I was very happy with it. They are really well insulated and the only time you really hear your neighbors is when they walk around on the floor above. That being said, I suggest getting an upstairs unit, but I think that goes for all apartments. Neighbors: 3/5 My direct neighbors were awesome. They pretty much kept to themselves and were generally pleasant when I interacted with them. If I had a complaint about noise, I could easily knock on their door and they apologized and turned it down. However, the others in the community weren't always the most considerate. Driving around the complex after 10pm blasting their bass with the windows down is the kind of crowd you get at the price point Falcon Landing offers. I interacted with people that were extremely rude and even wanted to fight me at one point. I wouldn't say I felt uncomfortable living there by any means, but I wouldn't leave my windows open when I left for work or anything. In conclusion: I enjoyed my time at Falcon Landing apartments. It had it's ups and downs, but it was a fantastic first apartment. If the corporate office got their act together and figured out how to run the leasing office properly, I think the property could be more successful and even charge more in rent. Overall, if I was planning to remain in the city, I would have probably renewed my lease.
