| - Red Roof Inns have been a good brand for the budget friendly traveler for millions of Americans and many more abroad. With rates that average about $65/night, what's wrong with that?
I stayed here for one night on Saturday, February 13, 2016 and was given room 234. This particular Red Roof Inn seemed to be a much larger fortress like building than that of other buildings that's been branded with the Red Roof Inn name. I did like the concrete archway that was fronting the entrance way as I pulled in. The parking options was a private lot, so that's a good thing, as well as street parking too. For the most part, being here at the Red Roof Inn was a budget conscious decision anytime I fly. I do like the fact that I can book the room via Hotels.com months in advance, but not pay till I arrive at the property. Red Roof Inn brand is one of the properties I trust when I travel. The rooms are nice and clean, and generally do not smell of smoke, unless you require a smoking room. The overall experience here was pleasant, uneventful, and quiet.
This Red Roof Inn is located at 2135 W 15th Street in Tempe, AZ. I was here for the 2016 Lost Dutchman 1/2 marathon, to see runner friends, and to kick off my 50 states half marathon quest. This was state #4. The Red Roof Inn sits in a quiet neighborhood, which is always nice. Quiet is always a good thing, especially when you want piece and quiet. They accept major credit cards upon check in, which is always a good thing and they ask for your vehicle license plate credentials too. The staff here is friendly and personable. It's quick checking in and out of here, not more than 5 minutes and you're out and on your way. There is free wifi, but I didn't use it much. It was kind of choppy and slow, so I just used my LTE data from my carrier.
The room itself was as expected it to be. Small enough, but large enough to accommodate 2 beds and a small desk with 2 chairs. The flat screen was a nice touch and the bathroom area is clean and spotless. There is a swimming pool on the property, but I didn't use it. Oh well, so sad. The bed I slept on was comfortable and had maybe 6 hours of sleep before I had to get up to run 13.1 miles. For what it's worth, this Red Roof Inn is a step up from your Motel 6's, but has more comfort built in. It's definitely affordable with the safety in mind, all bundled with a price you can live with and stay longer, if your travels permit you to do so. This location is perfect because it is five minutes or so away from phoenix international airport and many places in Tempe, including Arizona State University campus.
I did not know about free Continental breakfast if there ever was one. I left the hotel before anything was served. If you like budget friendly hotels in a comfortable stay for your travels in Phoenix Arizona, The sitter the red roof Inn in Tempe Arizona. You'll be glad when the price is right. Recommended!
