We've been waiting and watching ... to visit the OdySea. Today was the day!
We have been to many aquariums in the U.S.A. and although from the outside OdySea looked to be very exciting (we were expecting it to rank at the top) once we were inside it left much to be desired.
Some simple observations and suggestions on how to improve to make OdySea the top Aquarium in the World:
1) get some exciting fish! glaring omissions: sea horses, octopus and colorful tropical fish. How do you build a world class Aquarium yet not have any of these fish???
2) who needs a sloth or a toucan in an aquarium? Lose the sloth and the toucans and spend money on obtaining some interesting species of fish!
3) The Carousel Ride: what could have been THE most exciting attraction actually turned out to be quite boring. The sharks at the end were okay, but the whole spiel needs to be changed and made a lot more interesting. Maybe put seahorses, octopus and some colorful fish in the Carousel Ride?
4) if anyone from OdySea is reading this, please take a trip to the San Diego Zoo to see the interactive exhibits. No one does it better than the San Diego Zoo!
On a positive note, the food at the OpaLife Greek Cafe restaurant was delicious. (Lemon chicken soup and grilled shrimp salad were delicious!)
We ended the day on sweet note: ice cream sandwiches at The Frozen Penguin. Not to be missed!!!
