  • If Cold Stone can mix toppings and ice cream before your eyes, well this shop took it up a notch by stirring flavors, adding more chopping, and using fresh cream. The concept of having Rolled Ice Cream is quite entertaining and it always makes me giggle. They have a selection of flavors to choose from, you get one free topping, and if you want additional toppings it's an extra cost. There is not a line or wait when I came, maybe it wasn't one of their busiest day. But watching them use a metal spatula to karate chop then smoothing out ice cream on an extremely cold grill, kind of reminds me of a painter holding a sharp steel knife finishing a drywall patch. The magic comes when they start rolling and they make it look real easy. In the heat of the summer if I had that kind of grill, I would be having rolled ice cream every day in my home. Instead of choosing a fruity flavor, I went for the most unusual order and got the Potato Chip with Coffee N' Toffee ($6.49) and added Sprinkles. They use Lay's potato chips, coffee cream, and bits of almond rocha. Who would have thought having these in a bite of rolled ice cream would taste so good! I know not many will agree, but I think it is a fun and sweet treat to have as a first visit. The presentation is so much different than having the usual scoop in a cup. I like the fact they use cream and there is no preservatives. They make the ice cream so fresh with your favorite choice of mix-ins. You can choose from one of their House Creations like The Elvis which comes with peanut butter, banana, and nutty butter. They offer Smores, Caramel Pretzel, Twinkie, PB & J, Nutella, and Red Velvet Cake. If you're in the mood, you can try one of their Fruit Creations including Banana Split, Pineapple Delight, Lemon Strawberry, Mango Boba, and Raspberry White Chocolate. And if you're adventurous, you can always mix and match. I did notice on my other visit that the quality is not as consistent. The rolled ice cream is not as creamy as I originally had. In fact, it taste a little icy. But it is good seeing how creative they get using a variety of mix toppings and flavor. You can enjoy the ice cream in the shop, there's a few seating by the wall where you can sit and listen to good music, and there are some tables outdoor. Also don't forget to leave a nice tip, they work real hard and if you can imagine chopping ice cream for people all day, it's a lot of arm and strength.
