  • Unfortunately Dr. Reed retired a couple of years ago. He was the best dentist I ever had. He immediately and correctly identified a jaw issue I didn't even know I had, and created a clear orthotic to correct it. He then referred me to a Dr. Reed Day to have a nighttime orthotic made to resolve life-threatening sleep apnea. I researched my issue and their resolutions and they were both right on point. My sleep apnea is non-existent while wearing the night splint, according to a sleep study while wearing it. Dr. Reed also did all my cleanings and two Lumineers. He would smooth out or fill any chips that developed for free during my warranty period. About 7 years later, he replaced those Lumineers. I couldn't be happier with everything he did. Now a Dr. Jim Kelly has taken over that location. Initially I received cards and letters from them every few months desperately trying to get my business as a former Reed patient. They spoke glowingly and proudly about Dr. Reed and the honor of taking over his old location. I really tried to work with them to transition care to them, but it was like "pulling teeth" to get straight answers from them on whether annual cleanings are or are not tied to my Lumineers warranty, whether those cleanings must be done by their clinic or if any other clinic can do them, whether Dr. Kelly can or is willing to take care of a new chip on one of my current Lumineers, whether Dr. Kelly will honor the current warranty, or whether Dr. Kelly even does Lumineers. One staffer told me cleanings were tied to my warranty, even after my phone call to the Lumineers Company Lab revealed that wasn't factual. That staffer told me that I would have to fly from Seattle back to Phoenix to get my timely cleaning from their office because getting a cleaning elsewhere would not count. I did not do so. Even though the 12 month mark had long passed, they were still wanting to do the cleaning before honoring my Lumineers warranty for chip repair, but then they later admitted Dr. Kelly doesn't even do Lumineers. I called the Lumineers Company referral line and they confirmed he isn't in their network. So why were they trying to make me jump through hoops by dangling honoring the Lumineers warranty in front of me?! In addition, they threw around some vague putdowns about Dr. Reed during phone conversations. This was shocking, especially given their previous complimentary remarks about Dr. Reed. It was also completely unprofessional. I threw those back in their face and said he was the best dentist ever, and the only problem I was having was with THEM. I hear that over half of Dr. Reed's former patients have defected to other dentists. I can see why. May I suggest going to see Beth Hamann, DDS. That's what I'm going to do!
