Not worth the stay and NOT a W vibe. Pick the SLS, the Wynn, Venetian or anywhere else. The Mega Suite is large...decor is ok. The room service is crap. first night had an issue with the order where a plain burger was smothered with thousand island, the second night they didn't bring a spoon for soup, third night they forgot the beef on the nachos, the next morning the order took more than 60 minutes and the omelette was covered in tomatoes despite the order calling for no tomatoes. Each time there's a 20 minute delay to fix and no one seems to care. No one is paying attention to details it seems.
The W is basically a tower with a check-in desk and a bar. No vibe - no energy...this is not The W that I'm used to staying at.
The gym is decent - cardio equipment seems to be 10 years old but the machines and weights are decent for a hotel. Watch out for the treadmills...at 3 MPH walking they are all wobbly and hard to keep balanced on.
Also very far from the strip. It's a 5-10 min cab ride to the Venetian which is at the closest end of the strip to The W. There is a walkway to the monorail though if you're so inclined but cabs are faster and similarly priced.
